Sorting some sordid details of my past has been therapeutic, life-changing. I chose to tackle my challenges on-the-go. Stagnant and slipping into deeper depression by the day, my spirit was in desperate need of shaking up. So rattle and roll, I hit the road.

“Are you on vacation?” —Is a common question I am asked. The question always jars me a bit and I look forward to someday leaning more toward having a positive reaction so I can deliver an inspired message, versus that internal struggle to come up with a simple reply.

For now, I try to keep it short and tell people, “I’m a nomad. I live on the road.” Sometimes they furrow their brow in seaming disappointment at how I choose to exist. Others light-up and excitedly inquire more.

I could be called homeless, but I don’t like the unfortunate negative connotation.

I have been living on the road, full-time for about a year and a half now. I am working on my 50 states bucket list. But that was just a means to an end. The original intent of my travels and to see all 50 states was to give me something to focus on, to keep showing up, one day at a time, before I end it all.
