Silicon Valley, California

Born and raised in San Jose, California, before it was Silicon Valley. Looking back, I feel very blessed to have seen and lived in that different era of the San Francisco Bay Area. Remembering the farmlands and orchards, our mom used to take us out to the fields and the farmers would let local kids glean whatever produce we could find after harvest. I can still smell the rotten tomatoes baking in the sun.

Higher Education

I never went to college. I recall hearing others having their own conversations about college but for some reason, I didn’t feel qualified. I knew it…

His hands were up in the air like, “WHAT?! So what?” — As he blurts loudly, “I don’t care WHO hears me! Have you seen Miss Nevada?!
Cringe-factor 1000.

My boyfriend and I are going into our fourth year of this relationship and I have seen enough of his behavioral patterns that I am confident much of it is (somewhat) beyond his control. I think he is simply wired differently. He has his embarrassing outbursts, which are, well, embarrassing for me and awkward for anyone in earshot. I don’t think it phases him.

We went out to dinner this evening…

How To Win at Writing on Medium and Why it’s Easy

Takes some stank huevos crafting lickety-split more how-to clickettyshit. While I don’t physically have the danglers, I’ve got the chutzpah and I don’t mind posting about it.

In my opinion, the top priority when striving for a winning edge on Medium is engagement. I type 10Xs more comments and responses than stories. But that doesn’t mean I am spending ten times more time in the comments. I just happen to type fast (70wpm).

People just want to be seen and heard, easy. I follow a lot and read a lot.
I make it a point to follow more people every day…

Before my vacation, I made a public pledge
For this month to write 30 poems in 30 days
Nearing the end of July and now I’m on the edge
Of hysteria and anxiety has my heart and mind in a foggy haze

Considering I have about 25 poems on which up to catch
Dunno if preceding was even a sentence. but at this point I kina don’t care
I’m determined to follow through with my commitment plan hatched
Release short-n-sweet sh*t poems to the public, me, myself and I, I dare

Happy I was able to flip it and turn my frown upside down.

Took a few days of writing after my vacation…

I donated plasma again today. I’ve been leaning on this side schtick for a few years. My current 30-day round of donations will earn me $800 for my plasma. It’s not always that much, but ‘new’ donors are paid extra incentives.
I had to take approximately six months off per colonoscopy. Unsure why. Maybe something in the anesthetic? But I am back and although I am still on file with them, they considered me a ‘new/returning’ donor.

Brand new donors, the latest bonus incentives add up to $900! So, if you’re anywhere near a BioLife Plasma donation center, sign up…

What is Reiki?

The word Reiki translates as light energy. Reiki workers are trained in the discipline of working in cooperation with energies of the universe. I have heard it described in different ways. Much may seem convoluted, so I’ll explain from my perspective and experience. — I am a level 2 certified Reiki practitioner. When I am in Reiki mode, I feel like a channel, like energy and powers that I don’t fully understand (nor meant to) are using me to do work that is best for all parties involved, especially the client.
I quantified ‘nor meant to (understand)’ because that is one…

All of the many countless instances of gaslighting that I have been subjected to are now gas bubbles of happiness that I can release into the multiverse. When they *POP*, there goes the nonsense. — Bring back my smile, please.

Gaslighting. One of my pet peeves is overused cliche words or phrases.
Then when they’re truly appropriate or necessary, the impact is diluted.
When someone is gaslighting you so much that you literally begin to question whether it’s you or them, questioning your own sanity, that qualifies as gaslighting.

Like cockroaches, when you see one there are sure to be hundreds to thousands hiding, lurking. Since their brains are so tiny, the dumb bugs always manage to out themselves. Is it a stretch to refer to a copycock as a criminal? In my opinion, no.

Never let your guard down. Question everything. It sucks that that is what our world has come to, but bad elements prey upon weakness, creep through the cracks and have a knack of tainting everything we hold dear.
Our Medium community is infiltrated with scum. — Report them.
